How to get here
We are located in Russell in the Bay of Islands, in Northland, New Zealand. The area is famous for its sailing, with sheltered bays, lots of sealife, many islands, unpolluted beaches, and a warmer climate than the rest of New Zealand.
If you're booking a charter, Sue or Stephen will make arrangements to meet you at Russell Wharf in time for departure. If you are staying with us, please head for Villa Russell.
Russell is easy to get to from Auckland by coach or car and Keri Keri airport is nearby.

To find us from Russell township, take the road up Flagstaff Hill and we are halfway up on the right hand side. You will see the Kingfisher Charters sign at the end of the drive.

To Russell by Air
Air New Zealand flys daily from Auckland to Kerikeri. A shuttle bus runs to Paihia, where you can take the 15 minute passenger ferry crossing to Russell.
To Russell by Car
Russell is just over 3 hours from Auckland (250 km) via State Highway 1 through Whangarei. Follow the signs north of Whangarei to the turnoff just before Kawakawa. follow the signs to Opua Car Ferry, run by Fullers. The ferry runs as a shuttle from 7.30 am to 10pm and takes about 15 minutes (see the timetable).
To Russell by Coach
Intercity coaches run from Auckland to Paihia, and the journey takes about 3 hours. It is then just a short trip on the Paihia passenger ferry across to Russell.
